We named our farm after this little mustang as she was our finest accomplishment.  Prairie Star was adopted 21 years ago through the government's Adopt-A-Horse program.

It was our aim to show people that we could take this little 'wild horse' and make it a child safe riding horse.  Prairie Star has done that many times over by winning English and Western Pleasure Championships at our local 4-H shows and going on to state level.

She also has won many awards in Wild Horse and Burro Shows in pleasure classes.  Star has taught many children to ride and become better horse people. Star is now enjoying a well deserved retirement. She is living in Wyoming County, turned out 24/ 7 and with nothing but wide open spaces around her. She has come full circle, she returned to the out doors and the fields where she belongs. There will always be mustangs here at Prairie Star Ranch but none will take the place of her, she left us the legacy of her name, and the knowledge she gave to us.
